Who We Are

Born in Abancay, Peru.  She worked to put herself through college, and graduated with a degree in Administration.  Coming from a poor family, she saw the need for an education in order to have a better future.  She now works as the administrator for AIDIA (which is a Christian NGO dedicated to working with the Quechua speakers of the Apurimac department in Peru).   She also serves on the board of directors for “4Theloveofkids” as the contact person and facilitator for potential students in the department Apurimac, Peru .

I came to know the Drakes in 2010 when they were working at AIDIA.  Debbie, Larry and I developed a beautiful friendship, seeing the love that they have to serve God through missions.  They shared with me their organization “4Theloveofkids” to help orphan children with little or no economic recourse to obtain an education.  “With the help of 4Theloveofkids” they can create a better future for themselves and their community.  “God has blessed me and given a purpose to my live, so now I live to serve Him.

4TheloveOfkids is a faith-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to support orphans aging out of care by providing scholarship funding for continuing education and training. This support improves the quality of life of under-served and impoverished orphans and helps break the cycle of poverty.

Building contractor for over 30 years in Florida, residential and commercial, building has been my life.

In 1988 – My first experience with foreign missions began in Bogota Columbia. We were rebuilding and adding on to a church on the edge of the big city of eight million people. I didn’t know it then, but, missions would become my hearts passion and ultimately God’s calling on my life. Since that first trip I have had the opportunity of leading many short-term trips all over Central and South America. Seeing, first hand, how the poor people of this world live and struggle to just exist, it was impossible for me to sit back and live “life as usual” here back in the States.

God made it possible for my wife, Debbie, and I to live in Peru for a little over three years. While there, the first two years, were spent serving as coordinators for Wycliffe Associate teams from the U.S. and Canada. The project was building a Bible translation center to translate the Bible into the Quechua language. We also had the privilege of working with Campus Crusade during their translation of the “Jesus Film” also in the Quechua language.  Our third year was spent in the same town called Abancay, Peru adding on a third floor to an existing orphanage. It was there both my wife and I became burdened to create 4THELOVEOFKIDS.  We are still in the building business, “building better lives” for young people, from developing countries, who cannot make it on their own.
